Immigration Guidance Rooted in Community
Adelante Caminante is the community immigration legal services program of Semillas Arizona. We help migrant/ immigrant individuals and families understand their immigration options through legal education, case screenings, document preparation where permitted by law, case navigation, referrals, and community accompaniment.
Our goal is to make immigration services more accessible, affordable, and community-centered by helping families understand the process, prepare complete applications, and connect with trusted legal resources when additional representation is needed.
Whether you are beginning your immigration journey, renewing an existing benefit, responding to a notice from USCIS, or preparing your family for the future, our team is here to help you move forward with confidence.
Our Services
Immigration Case Screenings
Every client begins with a confidential intake and individualized case screening. We review your immigration history, identify potential immigration options, explain the process, and help determine the next appropriate steps.
Naturalization
We assist lawful permanent residents pursuing United States citizenship through:
• Naturalization eligibility screenings
• Form N-400 preparation
• Document review
• Interview preparation resources
Employment Authorization
We assist with Employment Authorization Document (EAD) applications, including:
• Initial applications
• Renewals
• Replacements
• Asylum-based employment authorization
Family-Based Immigration
Administrative assistance is available for eligible family-based immigration matters, including:
• Family Petitions (Form I-130)
• Adjustment of Status
• Affidavits of Support
• Advance Parole
• Permanent Resident Card renewals and replacements
• Removal of Conditions on Residence
Removal Defense Support
Families involved in removal proceedings often need coordinated community support.
Our program provides:
• Case organization
• Document preparation support
• Attorney referrals
• Family preparedness planning
• Community accompaniment
• Coordination with trusted legal service providers
Humanitarian Immigration Services
Subject to applicable law and program capacity, we provide administrative assistance, case support, and referrals for:
• U Visa applications
• Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) self-petitions
• Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) renewals, when accepted under current federal policy
• Family preparedness planning
Immigration Records
Understanding your immigration history is often the first step toward determining available options.
We assist with requesting immigration records from federal agencies, including:
• USCIS FOIA requests
• ICE FOIA requests
• CBP FOIA requests
• EOIR records requests
Know Your Rights
We regularly provide community education through workshops and presentations covering:
• Rights during encounters with immigration officers
• Family preparedness planning
• Immigration legal processes
• Immigration fraud prevention
• Community safety planning
How to Access Our Services

1. Attend Our Friday General Assembly
The first step to receiving services through Adelante Caminante is attending the Semillas Arizona General Assembly.

5:30 PM to 8:00 PM

Our General Assembly is where new community members are welcomed, learn about our programs, and begin the intake process for legal services.

2. Complete a Confidential Intake
During the General Assembly, our legal services team will meet with you to better understand your circumstances, review your immediate immigration concerns, and determine whether Adelante Caminante can assist with your matter.
Every case begins with an individualized intake and case screening to help identify potential immigration options and determine the most appropriate next steps.

3. Receive Your Appointment
Appointments are scheduled in person only during the Friday General Assembly.
We do not schedule appointments by phone, text message, email, or social media. Scheduling appointments in person allows our team to complete an initial screening, explain our services, and connect individuals with the appropriate resources.

4. Begin Your Service Plan
Following your intake, our team will develop a personalized service plan based on your circumstances. Depending on your needs, this may include immigration document preparation where authorized by applicable law, case navigation, legal education, referrals to qualified legal service providers, family preparedness planning, or ongoing community accompaniment.

5. Community Is Our Foundation
Adelante Caminante is rooted in the belief that informed and organized communities are stronger communities.
Our General Assembly serves as the entry point to our legal services program because it allows us to provide legal education, connect families with available resources, and ensure every individual receives thoughtful, coordinated support. It is also an opportunity to learn about the broader work of Semillas Arizona and the community resources available to you and your family.
